In early December, the Plan B Emergency Response Team got a panicked call from Twin Rivers Wolf and Wolfdog Sanctuary in Texas. Willow, one of their beloved residents was in bad shape and needed extensive diagnostics to find out why she was so sick. Willow is only 4 years old - a quiet, sweet, and well-behaved girl. So Plan B jumped in to help with a donation, and the tests discovered Willow has Immune-Mediated Thrombocytopenia. Her body eats her Blood Platelets and she was critically low, plus she was running a high fever and it was suspected there was a mass of some type in her lungs.

With that diagnosis, Willow was immediately started on prednisone, doxycycline, atenolol for her heart, and fluconazole, and the medicines are helping her feel better. She is eating well and active.

Willow may not be out of the woods yet, but thanks to your gifts to the Plan B Emergency Response Fund, she is doing much better.
